Useful Products on Amazon for Cloth Diapering

Looking around Amazon for some useful items to help you along your CD Journey?

I can help!

I have def tried a few different things here and there since I have been cloth diapering. I have found what works best for me, and seen lots of ideas from others on what works best for them. Ive complied a list of items that you can get off Amazon that can help you get organized, efficient, and empower you to get the hang of and be comfortable in your cloth diaper journey.

Let's start with storing the clean diapers!

Clean diapers can be stored in a few different ways. The main goal to focus on is that they aren't in direct, heavy sunlight, and that they get good airflow. Everything else is just aesthetics. And why wouldn't it be? They're so pretty with the beautiful prints and solids that melt our hearts. Who wouldn't want to display them, especially when they bring such joy.

While it is easy and efficient to store cloth diapers in a drawer, or in storage bins or cubes, there's also ways you can display them and also store them when ready to use.

Personally, I love a good wall shelf and rolling cart! The ones that work so well that can be bought off Amazon are here

These types of displays I use both upstairs in my kids room and downstairs in the family rooms for easy access to diaper change and storage. They are easy to use, and display everything so well. I love seeing the cute prints incorporated into our home life.

When needing to store cloth diapers in between children, something with air flow is best to prevent the PUL and elastics from breaking down. These Large Canvas Comforter Storage Bags  are great for storing cloth diapers while allowing for airflow and organization within the closet.

Storing Dirty Diapers!

Storing dirty diapers is also easy to do and accommodate in your every day life. Cloth diapers just need adequate airflow here as well to prevent them from becoming really smelly, and also to prevent excessive moisture which could lead to mold. Some personal options I find that work best for me in my home, and with the Pail Liners we offer here at Redwood, are these Seville Classics 2-Pack Steel Mesh Round Trashcan Wastebasket and this Mind Reader Slim Laundry Hamper with Lid. Both accommodate the pail liner in a different but efficient way to store dirty diapers til wash day. Of course there are lots of other ways in which people find the work best for them when storing dirty diapers...Large Hanging Wetbags on hooks work well, and also some people use a Diaper Dekor Classic Hands-Free Diaper Pail and just open the front panel to allow for airflow.

Dirty Diaper Laundry!

There are other blogs here on this website and on others that go over, in detail, the best ways to wash your diapers. Lots of them mention some helpful products for when you encounter problems, or to enhance your normal routine. A few that I like to use and recommend are Active Washing Machine Cleaner Tabs. These are recommended most often by washing machine repair techs and are great at descaling your drum, and keeping the machine clean so your laundry and diapers also stay clean.

We love using RLR Natural Laundry Detergent Powder as part of the Hard Water Girly club to keep our cloth from getting excessive mineral buildup and for a general refresh and deep clean of our towels and linens and diapers every so often. Some other products useful to everyone in their CD journey is the right kind of bleach for disinfecting and sanitizing, or Lysol as an alternative in some scenarios. Another great addition to your laundry collection is Bac-Out for stains and stuck in smells.

When it comes time to do the laundry, of course we have some recommendations for removing the POO! These sprayers and shields are really useful and preferred by the majority of cloth-parents.

Or is you are a DIY girly, you can always skip the expensive splatter shield and get a cheap bathroom-sized trashcan at Walmart or Target, cut the bottom out, and just use chip clips as a make-shift spray shield. I personally have been using this particular method for the past four years haha.

Drying those Fresh and Clean Diapers

When taking the diapers out of the washer, you have a few different options for how to get them dry and ready to go for next use. The internal tag has wash instructions, and we have more specific ones here in our other blogs or on other websites. But essentially you can choose to dry them in the dryer (be careful), or to hang dry them (MUCH preferred!).

If you hang dry, you can do it a few different ways. Here's a few options for ones that either take up floor space but fold out of the way when not in use, or ones that utilize overhead space in an area and free up the floor. Both are great!

So those are some useful products I have found on Amazon that have been great for my cloth diaper journey and for my household. I hope they also make things easier for you or inspire you to branch off and find solutions that work even better for you and yours!
